Who are the teachers?

Our Co-Founders, Geraldine Gauthier and Aurelie (Lili) Dhellemmes will be your teachers throughout the training.

How many people in one class?

On average for each class, there will be 8-15 participants. We like to keep the classes small to improve the quality of the interactions.

Should I choose the online or in-person training?

You can pick between online or in-person in Singapore. The content of the classes is the same. It really depends how you prefer to learn. For the online, you can pick and choose your favorite electives. The classes last 90 minutes. For the in-person training in Singapore, it will be 3 monthly modules of 2 days (9am to 6pm), hence 6 days total.

When can I start?

You can start the training today and start clocking your coaching hours for the ICF credential application.

How can I get access to coaching tools?

You will get free access to the Digital Coaching Toolbox during your training.
You will also have the option to subscribe to the Toolbox with 2 months of free trial. After the trial period, the subscription will be very affordable at USD18/month.

Will I get help finding clients?

Yes! Our certified coaches have the option to list their service on Find A Coach to find new clients.

What help do I get after graduation?

There is nothing more rewarding than to see our Alumni flourish! Beyond the Training, we still want to help as much as we can with:

  • Business Collaborations opportunities

  • Branding & Digital Marketing support (Free Mentoring sessions)

  • Website Design support (Free Mentoring sessions)

  • Free Peer Coaching Network to help you accumulate your Coaching Hours.

  • Speaking opportunities to events

How much does it cost?

You can either do the Training:

  • 100% online at your own pace. Pick any electives you want when you want. For USD 3,200.

  • In-Person in Singapore for SGD 4,600 (~USD 3,400).

Are there any extra costs?

The package includes everything for you to get certified, except:

  • The 3 hours of 1:1 mentoring. This gives the flexibility to do the 3 hours of 1:1 mentoring with GoMasterCoach co-Founders as mentors or with someone else (your mentor has to be ACC renewed or PCC). Count between $150-$300 per hour, depending on the mentor you choose.

  • $265 for the annual ICF membership

  • Either $375 to apply to ACC (through ACSTH) or $175 (through ACTP). What is the difference between ACSTH and ACTP? If you pick ACTP, GoMasterCoach will do your 1:1 mentoring hours (at extra cost) and review your recording (at extra cost). If you pick ACTP, your application will be reviewed by the ICF in 4 weeks instead of 14 weeks.

What is ICF?

ICF is the main accrediting and credentialing body for both training programs and coaches. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to professional coaching. ICF serves more than 50,000 members in more than 150 countries and territories around the world with 143 chapters serving local members in more than 80 countries and territories. As of March 2021, there were over 33,000 certified coaches who hold one of three ICF credentials: 18,628 Associate Certified Coaches (ACC); 13,332 Professional Certified Coaches (PCC); and 1,327 Master Certified Coaches (MCC)

What are the steps to become ICF Certified?

The first level of ICF Certification is ACC (Associate Certified Coach).

There are 6 requirements to get ACC Certified:

  1. You need to complete 60 hours by an ICF-accredited Training such as GoMasterCoach, providing you a completion certificate.

  2. You need to have a minimum of 100 hours of Coaching Experience. See at the bottom for more details on requirements and the help you can get for your 100 hours (for free) through our Peer Coaching Network.

  3. You need to be Mentored for 10 hours. See at the bottom for more details on requirements.

  4. You need to provide what ICF calls a Performance Evaluation, which is an audio recording and written transcript of a complete coaching session (lasting between 20 to 60 minutes) to be uploaded with your application.

  5. Once these 4 steps are done, you can Submit your Application through the ICF website. See application sample here.

  6. Then a few weeks later, when/if your application is validated, you will receive a link for completion of the Coach Knowledge Assessment (CKA): a 155 multiple-choice test to be done in 3 hours (open book). GoMasterCoach has a 100% success rate to the CKA exam and can provide you with mock exams. We are here to help! Feel free to email at info@gomastercoach.com if you have any questions!

How long does it take to get ICF Certified?

On average, it takes 6 to 12 months to become ACC (Associate Certified Coach). It all depends on how fast you want to do your 100 hours of Coaching Experience (which you can start from day 1 of your Training). Start your Training today with GoMasterCoach.

How much can I earn as a Coach?

From the ICF 2016 survey, of the coaches who were surveyed, the hourly rate they were charging ranged from USD 128 per hour to USD 321, with an average of USD 229. On average, these coaches were working 13 hours per week.

  • 0 – 1 year experience: USD 128/hour

  • 1 – 2 years experience: USD 152/hour

  • 3 – 4 years experience: USD 194/hour

  • 5 – 10 years experience: USD 256/hour

  • 10+ years experience: USD 321/hour

Coaching Hours: How does GoMasterCoach help me accumulate practice hours?

We know how tough it can be, especially at the beginning of a Coaching journey, to find clients to practice with. You can join our Peer Coaching Network, where like-minded coaches (beginners or not) will reciprocally practice with you. Totally free.

Coaching Hours: I see that 70% of my practice hours need to be paid, what does that mean?

"Paid" does not need to be monetary or have a minimum price; it can also be an exchange of services. Reciprocal peer coaching and coaching as part of your job will count as paid. If you coach someone and they pay for your coffee, that's also "paid."

Coaching Hours: How can I track my coaching practice hours?

When you submit your application, you will have to tick a box to acknowledge that you have done all the required Coaching Hours (100 hours for ACC). ICF can audit you randomly. You will have to provide the list of Client Names: for each Contact Information, if Individual/Group, Number in Group, Start Date, End Date, Paid hours, Pro-bono hours.

You can also track your hours automatically through the GoMasterCoach Toolbox.

Mentoring: Tell me more about the 10 hours of Mentoring

You need to be Mentored for 10 hours:

  • Over a minimum of 3 months.

  • Your mentor must be an ACC renewed, PCC or MCC.

  • A maximum of 7 hours of the 10 mentoring hours can be done as group mentoring (with less than 10 participants).

  • A minimum of 3 hours of the 10 mentoring hours must be one-on-one coaching with the mentor. You have the flexibility to choose GoMasterCoach Founders as your mentors.

Mentoring: How can I find a Mentor?

Your mentor has to be ACC renewed, PCC or MCC. You can email us on info@gomastercoach.com so that we guide you to some mentors suitable to your needs.

Performance Evaluation: Can you tell me more?

To become ICF Certified, you need to submit a voice recording of a complete coaching session (between 20 to 60 minutes) with a regular client. You need to submit a written transcript of this recording. You can decide for GoMasterCoach to review your transcript, which will fasten your application process (from 14 weeks to 4 weeks).

Coach Knowledge Assessment: How can I practice?

Once your application is validated by the ICF (ACC or PCC) (i.e. after you have validated your training hours + coaching hours + mentoring hours + performance evaluation), the ICF will send you a link for an online exam.

The ICF Credentialing Exam contains 81 situational judgment items. Each exam item contains a realistic scenario describing a coaching situation, followed by four response options. For each scenario, candidates are asked to select the best action and the worst action among the options provided for that scenario.

There is only one correct best action and one correct worst action for each coaching scenario. Although more than one response may represent a reasonable response to the scenario presented, candidates will receive credit only for selecting the best possible action or the worst possible action.

The passing score and all exam results on the ICF Credentialing Exam are reported as scaled scores. The range of possible scores is 200 to 600, with a passing score of 460.

We have a 100% success rate with applicants going through GoMasterCoach. You can retake the exam for $75. GoMasterCoach's training prepares you for the exam. Also GoMasterCoach provides mock exams to get you ready.

What is the difference between ACC, PCC and MCC?

There are three levels in ICF:

  • ACC (Associate Certified Coach),

  • PCC (Professional Certified Coach),

  • MCC (Master Certified Coach).

ACC is the entry level.

Each level has different requirements in terms of number of Training Hours and Coaching Experience (as per graph). All require 10 hours of Mentoring. From PCC, you need to submit 2 Performance Evaluations (versus 1 for ACC).You can decide to apply directly to PCC.

What is the difference between ACSTH and ACTP?

To be ACC accredited, you can decide between ACTP (Accredited Coach Training Program) or ACSTH (Approved Coach Specific Training Hours).

The main differences:

  • Training Hours: You need to do 125 hours of Training through ACTP compared to 60 hours through ACSTH. Hence, ACTP programs tend to take longer to complete (typically 6 months - 2 years) compared ACSTH (3-5 months).

  • 1:1 Mentoring: With ACTP, your training institute will provide mentors to you. With ACSTH, you can pick any mentor (as long as ACC renewed or PCC).

  • Performance Evaluation: ACTP provider covers Performance Evaluation, whereas with ACSTH, the Performance Evaluation is done by ICF.

  • After becoming an ICF member ($265 annual), to apply for ACC, you will pay $200 less through ACTP ($375 for ACSTH or $175 for ACTP).

  • The estimated timeline for application review by the ICF is 14 weeks for ACSTH compared to 4 weeks for ACTP.
